Hi, I recieved my master's degree here at AIU Online and enjoyed my time online. I noticed that AIU has a Virtual Commons that works similar to the Student Union concept.
I just wanted to open up this forum to bring out some ideas about social and organizational issues that Women Achieve members would like to discuss.
The issue I'd like to discuss is shopping for workplace clothing and stuff that affects work and health...such as fitness equipment.
I love to shop and well, the economy is taking a toll on my purse and shopping thrills. Women need to have a couple of nice suits to wear for job interviews and everyday work attire. I happen to be a big fan of consignment and resale shops and have sold and bought clothes and items from these type of stores. There are also freecycle programs out there, where people are giving away clothes and stuff instead of sending it to a landfill. Here is the website freecycle.org. I picked up a free stationary bike from a kind patron of the freecycle organization. Zero-landfill movements are here! The freecycle program has helped ease my frustrations to dress professionally and economically.
