Jenny Wittner

Jenny Wittner is Associate Director at Women Employed, overseeing all programmatic initiatives within the organization. Wittner led the effort to create Women Employed's career development tool for lower-income women, the Career Coach. Wittner supervised the development and publication of Women Employed’s work on lower-income women’s career decisions, What Do You Want to Be? Lower-Income Women Face the Job Market as well as Women Employed and Wider Opportunities for Women’s Self-Sufficiency Standard for Illinois. She is a co-author of Skills Training Works: Examining the Evidence, published by the Workforce Alliance.

Prior to joining the WEI staff in October 1999, Wittner directed Chicago Commons’ Employment Training Center (ETC), a nationally recognized welfare-to-work program, for five years. She has taught English as a Second Language, trained teachers and volunteers, and authored reports and articles on adult education.

Wittner holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard College and a Master of Arts degree in Linguistics and the Teaching of English as a Second Language from Northeastern Illinois University.
