Stressed Out

Are there times when you just feel that just making it through the day is all you want to do? When is it your time? Having a full time career and being a full time parent can lead you to moments when you ask yourself, when is it my time? How do you separate the two without leaving yourself stressed and tired?
In my experience children rarely understand that after being at work all day, I need a minute to relax. Many times 24 hours is not enough time in a day when you are carrying the load of a career and parenthood. Honestly, I don’t believe it is possible for someone not to ever experience feeling like this. How you handle these feelings and understanding that your well being has to come first is what is most important.
My child seems to be at his best when I am tired. It seems as though when you just would prefer to relax children do everything under the sun to annoy you, without meaning it. Learning ways to continuously interact with your child when you are stressed can reduce the overwhelming feelings that may frustrate you. I find that reading a book together, playing a game or cooking together are all things that need to be done and can reduce stress. Children have a way of making you laugh or smile that has the potential to make you forget your stresses.
