Achieving Life Balance
From Me to You: Welcome
Posted: Jan 5th, 2009
Hello and welcome to “our blog,” which concerns the many issues that women face in their daily lives.
I graduated with an AA in Computer Programming, a BS in Computer Information Systems Management, an MBA, and a PhD in Organization and Management (concentrating on leadership). I went to traditional colleges through my MBA, and attended online with required residency requirements for my PhD. While attending classes for my MBA and PhD I was married, raising a family, working full-time, teaching part-time, and was involved in many community organizations. It was necessary for me to have good time-management and organization in order to be able to do it all. It was not easy, but prioritizing and having the support of family made doing it all possible. If there is anything you’d like to know more about the personal me, please feel free to ask. If it is too personal, I will let you know in a gentle manner.
I am here to help you balance your work-life-school issues while helping you find what you need for your own personal growth. Women have a tendency to put everyone else first and themselves last, forgetting that we need to nurture ourselves just as much -- if not more -- than those we love.
My goal is to help you with issues -- generational changes, recovering from a mistake, connecting with others, your legacy, finances -- that seem to get in the way of our needs, such as renewing our spirits taking a girlfriend weekend, and achieving personal gratification.
Cordially,
Dr. Dawn
